Desert Discovery Tour Day Trip (9:30am-9pm)

Our day trip begins with a 9:30 AM pickup at a central location in El Paso, from where we’ll start our drive toward Alamogordo, New Mexico. Around 11:30pm, we’ll arrive at New Mexico Museum of Space History, where you can tour the museum for an hour. After spending about 1 hr and 30 minutes there, we’ll head to Alamogordo for a late lunch at one of the town’s popular local spots, such as Hi-D-Ho Drive In, Rizo’s Mexican Restaurant, or Can’t Stop Smokin’ BBQ. Next, we will head to Pistachioland, home of the world’s largest pistachio statue, where you can take photos, tour the farm, browse the gift shop, and sample some pistachios and local wine if you’d like at Heart of the Desert Winery for Happy Hour. Following lunch, we’ll continue on to White Sands National Park by about 5:00pm, giving you roughly 2 hours to explore the stunning gypsum dunes. You’ll have time to hike, sled, take photos, or join a ranger-led talk if available. We’ll regroup by 6:45pm and make another quick dinner stop in town. We will re-board the van at 7:45 PM to board the van and begin our return trip, arriving back in El Paso by approximately 9:15 PM.
